Is Fast Food The New Tobacco
ππ±π°BE MINDFUL OF YOUR/CHILDREN HEALTH !
speech was very inspiring i really enjoyed it. Michelle Obama help me to remember my childhood and how
things were different back then versus now. When i was a child i rarely ate outside food and i played outside most of
the time during school recess, after school and summer time. I was apart of all types of sports and parades.
I was a very active child
My childhood was very different compared to
children being raised today. My grandparents always cooked
they took turns throughout the week and weekend.
Having a vegetable or fruit was important in my household i remember having watermelon
contest in the summer, things like this helped children enjoy fruit.
Michelle Obama inspired me to try to give my children the same childhood that i experience when i
was a child. it can be tough at times because i noticed fruits are more seedless now it's hard to find a
seeded fruit now than before when i was a child.I feel like now we have to stay more mindful than ever
before now we have to pay close attention to what we/ children are eating there are even more fast food
restaurant's than ever before. I believe if people will eat in moderation there will be less obesity, high
blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes among young children and adults.
I believe fighting for more healthy food options would help my children stay healthy and happy as well as have a healthy adulthood.
In Don't blame the Eater, David Zinczenko argues that fast food
has become the modern equivalent of tobacco, due to its widespread consumption and harmful health
effects. Just as tobacco companies once mislead the public about the dangers of smoking, fast food
chains have downplayed the negative consequences of their products, such as obesity and related
diseases. Zinczenko highlights how fast food is often marketed to children and low-income
communities, making it difficult for people to make healthier choices. This has been truly an inspiring
and unforgettable week for me.
